Memorial Quilts

The Names ProjectThe Names Project, (the AIDS Memorial Quilt) was created to memorialize the lives of the millions of people who have died from the AIDS disease. The donated quilts making up the entire quilt link AIDS with death, since each panel is approximately the size of a grave. The NAMES Project Foundation maintains ownership of this memorial quilt and determines its display and usage. The Names Project


Another AIDS memorial quilts is Children's Hospital AIDS Program.

Other medical diseases have been created to educate and memorialize those afflicted with Huntington's Disease and the Alzheimers Art Quilt Iniative.

The K.I.A. Memorial Quilt, honors U.S. Armed Forces members killed in the the war in Iraq.
